The appropriate occasion for a wool coat is closely related to the characteristics of its fabric. For business occasions, choose crisp, wrinkle-resistant blended or synthetic fabrics, such as wool and polyester twill, which has a tight structure and a strong sheen, and pairs well with suits or shirts to project a professional image. For casual occasions, choose soft, warm natural wool, such as a cashmere double-faced wool coat. Its unlined design reduces weight, making it suitable for outdoor activities or daily commutes. Fast fashion brands often use synthetic wool imitations, enhancing the design through printing and embroidery to meet the trendy demands of younger consumers.
The wool content of a wool coat should be clearly labeled, and the formaldehyde content should be ≤75mg/kg, with a pH value between 4.0 and 8.5. When purchasing, you can judge the quality by "looking, touching, and smelling": observe whether the fabric is uniform and free of color differences; touch whether it is soft and free of roughness; smell whether the odor is pungent (excessive synthetic fiber content may produce an unpleasant smell). In addition, you can check the care label. If it says "dry clean only", it is mostly natural wool. If it says "machine washable", it is mostly synthetic fiber or blended fabric.
